The Journal of Island and Marine Studies (JIMS) is international peer-reviewed, applied research journal dedicated to exploring the legal, policy, political, economic, social, planning, and technical issues relating to islands and regional ocean on a global scale. The journal covers all continental areas across the world, and it discusses any island and marine subjects through various research methods from different perspectives; moreover, practical studies as well as theoretical works, which contribute to a better understanding of island and marine issues are encouraged. Focal areas include, but are not limited to: international, regional and national marine region and related islands; management and regulation of marine activities; conservation and use of marine resources; island and ocean governance.
To enhance the quality and impact of the journal and to engage with your researchers, JIMS is now recruiting Young Editorial Board Members worldwide.
Qualifications
- Young researchers with a doctoral degree.
- Research interests in an area relevant to the journal.
- Experience in publishing or peer reviewing journal articles.
- Willingness to devote sufficient time to contribute to the development of the journal with passion and enthusiasm, in particular a demonstrated ability to submit or solicit manuscripts for the journal.

Responsibilities
- Contribute or invite at least one high-quality manuscript each year during the term of appointment.
- ·Actively participate in peer review and organize cutting-edge special issues for the journal.
- ·Provide suggestions and guidance for the development of the journal.
- ·Help with the promotion of the journal at academic conferences at home and aboard Participate in academic exchange activities sponsored by the journal society, including but not limited to, the planning and organization of relevant academic conferences.
- ·Participate in other activities to enhance the academic impact of the journal.
